- Blade : It can be singleedged or double-edged which perform mainly three functions of striking, cutting, and thrusting.
- Hilt : It consists of grip, pommel and a simple guard which allow the handling and control of the blade. The pommel is used as a blunt instrument to improve the sword's balance and grip.
- Scabbard : It is a protective cover provided for the sword blade which is made up of many materials such as leather, wood, brass or steel.
